The first report cards of the school year are in, and the results are fantastic!!

Fiona had all A's - one of those was a 100! Wow!

Ashlyn also had all A's - bringing up her reading grade from a low B (at progress report time) to an A! Woohoo!

Great job girls!!!

Fall Photos

It's that time of year again!

Time for fall family photos:

We had a BLAST taking these and are so thankful to Brent for capturing all the fun and getting them back to us SO quickly!

We love you all and hope you're having a great fall!

It's been a month?!?!

Since our last post?
Crazy!

October, whose calendar days are never empty, did not disappoint this year.

We are still unpacking boxes (and probably will be long into the holidays) and filling the walls with art and shelves.
But! We are about 90 percent all moved in and our BIG house is really feeling more like home (which is a good thing, considering we closed on the townhouse Oct 2nd).

Here is a peek into our living room:

Here is our dining room, with our gorgeous 6 piece table set - an amazing birthday gift for Laurie from Dr. and Mrs. Capper.

Our kitchen and hearth room:

Looking through the kitchen window. There are those fantastic trees!

And a view of the neighborhood:

Two weeks after moving in, we decided to have a slumber party for Ashlyn. It was all fun and games until it became time to paint pumpkins!

Needless to say, we are still cleaning up glitter after that one.

Ashlyn's school had a fall festival, so naturally she and her friends got their faces painted!

Laurie turned 35!
Happy belated birthday!

Thank you, from Laurie, for all the gifts, cards and happy birthday wishes! ❤️❤️❤️

The girls went on a zombie hunt and got to shoot zombies with bows and arrows!! How awesome is that?!

Ashlyn lost a tooth!

And Sam found a headband.

Phew! What a month!

Report card grades are coming soon, to a blog near you.

Love you all,
S, L, F and A

P.S. Thank you to Mrs. Capper for so many of the fantastic photos featured in this post! Xoxo

Falling into a busy season!

Oh my gosh, where has the time gone?

Since going to Cinci for Ashlyn's birthday, our little family has been moving full steam ahead on the express train without taking any consideration for stops!

We closed on the new house Sept 19.
We migrated to Murfreesboro Sept 20-22. Since the move, every night has been filled with unpacking.

But, everything is starting to come together!

The house at 5 a.m.:

Our bedroom:

Love these stair lights:

These curtains are the perfect accent for our living room:

Soon our fence and blinds should be installed (luckily we have curtains up in a couple of the rooms so that we can sleep without fear if snoopers).  And our grass is really starting to grow! We've been pretty fortunate to have some rainy nights lately.

We are working on a final clean-and-patch-up of the townhouse, so that it's ready for the final walk through (for the buyers) next week. Fingers crossed that our scheduled closing on the old place goes smoothly!

We are planing a sleep over for Ashlyn (a birthday party request that was postponed until the move). In a couple of weeks our new place will be filled with several squealing little girls! Poor Sam. Hehehe

Until next time!

Much love,

Ashlyn's Birthday Weekend

HAPPY 9th BIRTHDAY ASHLYN!

Friday, August 30, was Ashlyn's 9th birthday. We celebrated by keeping her home from school (shhh) and taking her to Pfunky Griddle for brunch.

We then loaded up the car and headed to Cincinnati to see Nana and Pap Pap!

While in Cincinnati we visited their awesome aquarium:

And had a birthday dinner celebration for Ashlyn:

It was a great weekend.
We had one minor accident (the poor birthday girl had her fingers smashed by a hotel door), but after dr mom and dad came to the rescue (and took her to urgent care just to make sure all the bones looked ok) all was well again... With the exception of her middle finger, but luckily it's only a bad cut that will heal over time.

We got back home pretty late on Sunday night, so we decided to take it easy on Labor Day.

We worked on homework and visited one of our favorite Murfreesboro coffee shops.

We hope everyone else had a great Labor Day weekend!

HUGE CONGRATS to Sam's brother Ben and his wife Jackie on the birth of their new baby girl, Katarina.

Ashlyn thinks it's just so awesome to share her birthday with her new cousin!

Not much longer...

Things are really coming together at the new house!

Landscaping has been completed.

The yard has been leveled, seeded and strawed.

All of the lighting has been selected and hung/mounted.

The cabinets are in and are just waiting on the granite.

For the most part, what's left is:
Hardwood finish
Carpet
Granite (which should be complete this week - we had to change our selection and will now be getting granite with a leathered finish in the kitchen)
Plumbing (this part is waiting on the granite)

And a few other little details.

We are SO CLOSE!
