Ground breaking updates

Literally!

We went to visit our land yesterday and discovered they were putting down concrete foundation rebar.

Looks like they are starting to move things a long just a bit!

Sam is a little worried with how far into the back yard the house line seemed to be, so we are going to give the contractor a call to make sure it's still on par with the measurements he gave us.

Here are some photo updates!

More updates to come soon!

Celebration Weekend

Sam and Laurie paid a visit to Ben and Jackie in celebration of - 1) Their new baby girl (who will be here in September) and 2) their big move to Florida (which will be taking place in less than 2 weeks).

It was great to see so many wonderful family members and friends and to meet so many new and friendly faces.

We hope you had a great weekend as well!

Big event, little preview

As we hinted during our last update, we have been looking to relocate our little family into something just a tad bit bigger than the 1500 sq feet we're all squeezing into. After months of house hunting (special thanks to Stuart and Barbara Capper for the numerous trips to Nashville to help with our search) and much help from our realtor we decided to build anew.

As of April 27th, we are in contract with a fantastic custom home builder who is working directly with us to create our 2900 sq foot kingdom in Murfreesboro, TN.

Our ETA for closing is early September (just in time for Sam and Laurie's first anniversary).

Once we are all moved in we plan to have a "It's about darn time we had you all over" party for all of our family and friends.

So where are we in the process?

We'll let the pictures answer that for us!

The builder should start breaking ground within the next week! We were asked to look at brick, mortar, and roof colors.

Exciting times!

We will keep you posted on our progress throughout the next 120 days!

Amazing job Ashlyn!

She will also be honored at the final awards day of the year, if anyone would like to attend.

It's already May?

Where has this year gone?
How is Summer break almost here?
Can someone press pause, please?

April was a whirlwind!
We spent most of it house hunting (yes, you read that right), some of it on spring break, and some of it traveling!

Ashlyn's spring break fell during the first week of April. She had a great week full of movies, shopping, pancakes (at our favorite Pfunky Griddle) and bike riding.

Later in April, Ashlyn and her Dad took a trip to the beach! They went swimming, bike riding, shopping, scavenger hunting and enjoyed a party during the last night of their trip. (Thanks for the photo Brent!)

At the end of April, Laurie took a trip to Seattle to visit her friend Heather.
The plane ride there was fantastic (the Rocky Mountains are quite a vision, every single time) and finally seeing Seattle was amazing. What a gorgeous city it is.
Laurie was most excited to see and spend time with Heather. Oh yeah, and to see the first Starbucks store ever!

Now that our busy April is over, we are looking forward to all the fun May will bring!
Laurie just finished school for the semester (so far, two As). Fiona will finish up May 23rd. Ashlyn's last day is May 24th (see above for her most recent progress report).

What will the summer bring?
So far we know we will be making many trips to Nashville Shores, since we bought season passes again!
We are also sure to visit Alabama, Georgia and maybe Ohio (Nana and Pap Pap we would still love to meet y'all in Cincinnati sometime soon).

We hope everyone is having a great spring!

Before we close this post, we have to send a special HAPPY BIRTHDAY wish to Pap Pap! We hope you had a fantastic day, yesterday!
