Happy Birthday Fiona!!!

14 years ago we welcomed a precious baby girl into this mysterious and intriguing world. 

14 years later we are celebrating how much joy she has added and continues to add to it every single day!

We went to see the progress on our house today and BOY had they been busy this past week!

Lots of framing in the works!

While we were there, taking it all in, one of us mentioned just how big the house felt now. It sure does. We are very excited.

Layin down some flooring!

A couple of weekend updates on the new house:

After a good amount of rain in the Boro area the last week, our house builders were finally able to lay down some flooring on Saturday. 

Those floors look pretty solid to us!

We also took a trip to our builder's house  to see his storm shelter. Laurie took a few minutes to challenge her claustrophobia and stepped inside. Sam then joined her to see how he felt about the space. 

It actually wasn't too bad, even though no one shut the door all the way, we could see ourselves being OK with piling in there in the event of an emergency. 

Our builder offered to call around and get estimates from different storm shelter companies. We will probably take him up on this offer.

Framed?!?!

Well, not yet....

But we can certainly see that it's not far from happening!

Updates: We are talking to our builder about an in ground storm shelter (with access from the garage). We will keep you posted on our decision on this one. 

Way too many thunderstorms, straight line winds, and tornadoes in the Boro in the last 10 years.

Foundation Nation

House updates!

We took a trip to the Boro (after our family vacation) to check out the progress on our house. 

Looks like some crawl space foundation is in the works:

We were asked to pick window frame colors last week (we went with beige/tan) and informed that we should see some framing going up soon.

We wanted to gloat on the final grades of the 2012-2013 school year for everyone!

Fiona:

Both are advancing grades in the fall

Fiona will officially be a High School Student (AHHHH!) and Ashlyn will start 4th grade!

One last set of grades to report:

Laurie received all As in her 3 MTSU fall semester courses.

Family Vacation to DISNEY WORLD!!

We had been keeping this trip Hush-Hush from the blog because it was a secret for the girls. 

We decided to tell them Friday night (5/31), 45 minutes before we headed out on the road!

Needless to say, they were very excited. 

We had a fantastic vacation. 

Lots if waking, waiting, riding, eating, and  most if all - FUN!

We hit all 4 Disney parks:

Magic Kingdom

Hollywood Studios

Epcot

Animal Kingdom

Enjoyed several character breakfasts and dinners:

And even fit in time for an archery lesson and a trip to Downtown Disney!

We were fortunate enough to take this trip with the Morgans, and their parents, and we sure had a blast spending time with each of them.
