Falling into a busy season!

Oh my gosh, where has the time gone?

Since going to Cinci for Ashlyn's birthday, our little family has been moving full steam ahead on the express train without taking any consideration for stops!

We closed on the new house Sept 19.
We migrated to Murfreesboro Sept 20-22. Since the move, every night has been filled with unpacking.

But, everything is starting to come together!

The house at 5 a.m.:

Our bedroom:

Love these stair lights:

These curtains are the perfect accent for our living room:

Soon our fence and blinds should be installed (luckily we have curtains up in a couple of the rooms so that we can sleep without fear if snoopers).  And our grass is really starting to grow! We've been pretty fortunate to have some rainy nights lately.

We are working on a final clean-and-patch-up of the townhouse, so that it's ready for the final walk through (for the buyers) next week. Fingers crossed that our scheduled closing on the old place goes smoothly!

We are planing a sleep over for Ashlyn (a birthday party request that was postponed until the move). In a couple of weeks our new place will be filled with several squealing little girls! Poor Sam. Hehehe

Until next time!

Much love,

Ashlyn's Birthday Weekend

HAPPY 9th BIRTHDAY ASHLYN!

Friday, August 30, was Ashlyn's 9th birthday. We celebrated by keeping her home from school (shhh) and taking her to Pfunky Griddle for brunch.

We then loaded up the car and headed to Cincinnati to see Nana and Pap Pap!

While in Cincinnati we visited their awesome aquarium:

And had a birthday dinner celebration for Ashlyn:

It was a great weekend.
We had one minor accident (the poor birthday girl had her fingers smashed by a hotel door), but after dr mom and dad came to the rescue (and took her to urgent care just to make sure all the bones looked ok) all was well again... With the exception of her middle finger, but luckily it's only a bad cut that will heal over time.

We got back home pretty late on Sunday night, so we decided to take it easy on Labor Day.

We worked on homework and visited one of our favorite Murfreesboro coffee shops.

We hope everyone else had a great Labor Day weekend!

HUGE CONGRATS to Sam's brother Ben and his wife Jackie on the birth of their new baby girl, Katarina.

Ashlyn thinks it's just so awesome to share her birthday with her new cousin!

Not much longer...

Things are really coming together at the new house!

Landscaping has been completed.

The yard has been leveled, seeded and strawed.

All of the lighting has been selected and hung/mounted.

The cabinets are in and are just waiting on the granite.

For the most part, what's left is:
Hardwood finish
Carpet
Granite (which should be complete this week - we had to change our selection and will now be getting granite with a leathered finish in the kitchen)
Plumbing (this part is waiting on the granite)

And a few other little details.

We are SO CLOSE!

Swinging our way into September!

This post sat on edit for a week, so here is our update from the week of August 19-26:

As usual, another busy couple of weeks for our little family!

Sam made a trip to visit his folks in Alabama and pick up our pups (who had been staying at the "resort" while we prepped for and held our open house).

Ashlyn and I decided we'd enjoy this hot summer weather and kept ourselves very busy!

On Saturday, we had some froyo from Sweet CeCe's:

And we went to the Wilson County Fair.

We had a blast riding the swings:

And the ferris wheel:

Fiona also happened to be working at the fair that weekend, so we were able to say hello and spend some time with her.

On Sunday we went to Nashville Shores with all of our best friends to celebrate Ashlyn's birthday.

It was great spending time with so many of the people we love.

For those of you we didn't get to see - we love you bunches and hope you've been doing great and having weekends full of fun as well!
